Walks 101

Mom and dad have decided to take us out for more walks. A walk is where they take you outside to walk around, but you are only allowed to walk in a straight line while wearing a harness. Sometimes you turn corners, but its mostly a straight line. It is a very weird sport. Mom and dad seem to take it very seriously, though.

The world, I am learning, is filled with many many houses that look like ours, except without the dead shrubbery. Each yard has the potential for being a gold mine of poo from countless unseen doggies, doggies that may have poo'd that poo many weeks ago. "How exciting!" I thought when I realized this, but I quickly discovered that hunting for crunchy poo bits in the grass is NOT part of the walk game.

Another thing I learned is that there are lots of dogs that live in my neighborhood. Most of them screamed at me and Leroy when we went by. "Get out of my yard!!!!" they would scream, and they sometimes called us very rude names I refuse to say here. There are children (Leroy) around, you know. Despite these horrid dogs with no manners WHATSOEVER, there were a few that yelled "Come play! Come play!" and we tried as hard as we could to pull mom and dad over to them. No luck. It was walk the straight line or get scowled at by mom.

When we got home I asked mom for my prize. "What prize?," she asked. "The one for winning the walk game," I said. She just looked at me for a few minutes with that vacant look humans get a lot, so I walked away.

Just like a human to forget having prizes.

I bet Santa is a Boston Terrier

Mom's camera is broke so we won't have pics until Dad takes them, but we got some nice presents, inlcuding a big plastic container of real freeze dried liver, a big pack of little chews, fancy white-chocolate dipped dog biscuits, some tuggy toys that say "I love you," and a little pillow and matching throw blanket with a Boston Terrier on it!

I gotta go now. Leroy wants to play tug of war and you know how little kids are when they want something!

Birthday Pics!

Mom made little birthday cakes for me and Leroy and our dog friends. She made them out of soy flour, milk, oil, baking powder & salt and added some mashed bananas and a few white chocolate chips for sweetness. Here is what they looked like before going into the oven.

Here they are out of the oven, cooling. Leroy was impatient. He wanted cake!

We knew momma was cooking for us.

Mom made me wear a birthday bandanna and birthday hat that was too big on me. It flopped over but mom said I looked cute.

Here is mom and Leroy singing happy birthday to me.

Mommy blew out the candle for me.

Here is us eating cake! Mom made the frosting out of cream cheese, peanut butter, and mashed banana. It was sooooo good. We each got our own little cake, but MINE had a candle in it LEROY nya nya nya.

Mom or dad didn't eat any cake because they said it was special for dogs. We gave a cake to Frankie next door and sent one to Ellie across the street. We haven't met Ellie yet because she is just a baby, but we hear she is very cute and can't wait to meet her. She is a "rat" terrier, but we won't hold that against her.

Here is a picture of my special birthday dinner, kibble with some fresh raw chopped steak and cottage cheese! Leroy got some too even though it wasn't his birthday. Sometimes little kids get their feeling hurt, so I was SHARING which makes mom happy.

Here are my birthday presents! A new bed with a snuggle pouch built in, 3 balls that jingle, a huge tasty bone that is ALL MINE LEROY, and some flannel pjs.

Mom also got me a "pin-yata" with treats in it but we get to play with him this weekend when Tyler is here. Its got treats in its belly.

I love my new bed. I napped in it for hours and hours after my party. Mom didn't even have a chance to move it out of the kitchen! I just napped there.

We have evil in our midst

I've been concerned about the recent appearance of the black squirrel. He's been around quite a bit and Dad got some better shots of him, but my fears didn't have anything to grasp until NOW

Russian Black Squirrels EAT Dog

So apparently he is here to train our daffy American squirrel how to EAT DOGS.  WHAT?!?!?!?!

Frankie speaks Russian, maybe she can do some recon work for me. I've been teaching Leroy how to roll around in dirt and dead things so that not only will we be harder to spot, but we will not taste good!

Little Foot

Today we saw a jet black squirrel, the first one me or mom have ever seen. Mom got her camera and took a bunch of pictures but strangely only one came out. . . spooky

The photo is not a fake! I promise!

In other news Frankie next door ran away for a couple days. She said she needed a vacation. I tried not to snicker when she said she ended up at the SPCA, but the new big blue collar on her looked too goofy.

Oh, and Happy Turkey Day to you humans. Notice I said humans? Well mom and dad are leaving to go celebrate somewhere else and we have to stay at home which isn't fair AT ALL. I told her she better save me a piece of turkey or else I'm packing my bags!

Long overdue Halloween pics

A couple weeks ago we went to the Bark Park for the October Boston Terrier Meetup. It was Leroy's first time and he really had a blast. There were more dogs there than I had ever seen!! Here are some pics.

It was really cool because the Greater Houston Boston Terrier Rescue was meeting up afterwards for a party! One of Leroy's brothers was there. His name is Vinny. He's on the left.

There was a costume contest and Leroy and me won 2nd place!!  We were dressed up as a princess and frog prince. Mom said I had to be the princess :(

Leroy's costume kept falling off cause mom forgot how pudgy Leroy's belly is.

Here is a pic of us playing with one of our prizes, a little stuffed BT!

It was the pig! I swear!

Mom wants to know what this mystery mess is. How should I know, I tell her. It was CLEARLY the pig's doing.

Mysterymess

Note to concerned parents. Although its origin is a completely mystery, the mess in question is made of a paper material, so is not a choking hazard to certain sassy puppies. Thank you for your time. -- Sassy Puppy Editor.

Nooter?

Mom told me that I am going to get "nootered" Friday. I don't know what this means, but she did say that after I am "nootered" I can have a brother! YAY!!

Momma Randi is staying with us again, so I've had lots of fun the last couple days playing bitey face and chase.

Last night though I heard bombs going off outside and it really scared me that the aliens were attacking. I screamed at mom "Let me out!!" so I could go fight but she just patted my back and said "It's all right. Calm down." GAH, she is so dumb sometimes!!

Mom and dad got a people pool this weekend and I'm not sure if I like it or not. I want inside so bad, but when I get in, there is no place to stand so mom has to hold me the whole time.

SPY DISCOVERED!

Just now, when I went out for a potty, I saw a squirrel spy masquerading as railing on my neighbor's deck.
